We're more connected than ever—but at what cost? With an average adult spending 6-8 hours daily on digital devices, tech fatigue is now a public health concern. Digital detox rituals are emerging as a proactive way to reset our minds, improve mental clarity, and support emotional wellbeing.
Rather than full-on disconnection (which can feel overwhelming), many people are integrating mini detoxes into their day: tech-free mornings, intentional device curfews, and weekly "no-screen Sundays." These practices are gaining traction, especially on wellness platforms like Pinterest and TikTok.
Research from the University of Pennsylvania shows that reducing social media use to under 30 minutes a day significantly decreases anxiety, depression, and FOMO. Other studies show links between excessive screen time and disrupted circadian rhythms, leading to poor sleep and brain fog.
